I'm always talking about how important it is to cross train. I say it at the end of my SPARKCYCLE classes and I say it to myself all the time (true story). Now, the thing to note here is that between teaching fitness, building an organic food empire, singing in the San Diego Gay Men's Chorus (we have a show coming up! I have a solo...COME!) and upholding a gnarly social calendar (read: sleeping) it's hard to find time to do much of anything else.
Enter the Rototiller.
First of all, look how happy I am in this picture. One cannot image the immense joy I experienced after I finished rototilling 10 vegetable garden beds. I won't bore you with the details of what a Rototiller does (Wikipedia if you must), but it was a full body workout if I've ever experienced one.

Sometimes we get caught up in what a workout actually is when it's more important to embrace how it makes us feel. If you decide to take the stairs instead of the elevator give yourself a moment to relish in that decision. If you spend time at work standing at your fancy standing desk (um, I'm jealous) think about how cool you are for treating yourself to an extra burn during your regular grind! #FISHMANFIT PASSION FRUIT PITAYA PROTEIN SMOOTHIE
1 PitayaPlus smoothie pack
2 scoops Aloha Vanilla Vegan Protein Powder (or your favorite protein powder)
1 TSP Sunfoods Lucuma Powder (maple flavored superfood goodness!)
4 oz Harmless Harvest Coconut Water (Seriously the ONLY coconut water that is worth your time)
1 scoop of ice
1 cup water, milk, soy milk or nut milk - I make my own nut milk and it is the easiest. EVER. (we'll chat later this week about that)
1/2 Passion Fruit
DIRECTIONS: Put all ingredients except passion fruit in a blender and blend until combined. Pour into a glass and garnish with passion fruit seeds. The passion fruit adds a tart and refreshing surprise to every sip!
